From Addiction to Artistry: Her 2nd Chance Partners with State of Gratitude to Handcraft Symbolic Bracelets

BOCA RATON, FL (July 22, 2025) — What do 1,000 tiny seed beads and a second chance at life have in common? For the women of Her 2nd Chance, it’s the start of a better future for themselves and their families.

The South Florida-based nonprofit social enterprise, which provides paid transitional employment and support programs for women in recovery from substance use, has joined forces with State of Gratitude, a recovery-rooted apparel and accessories brand, to produce their handcrafted Gratitude Intention Wrap Bracelets—delicate and stylish symbols of appreciation and intention.

Handcrafted by the women participating in Her 2nd Chance’s program, each bracelet contains 1,000 hand-strung beads carefully woven with patience and artistry. To date, more than 2,500 bracelets have been produced and shipped for sale through State of Gratitude’s e-commerce site and brick-and-mortar locations.  Each bracelet is a testament to the courage and resilience of the women who craft them.

“From battling addiction to beading bracelets of hope—this is more than a job,” said Sandra Wright, Executive Director of Her 2nd Chance. “It’s paid work that renews a sense of purpose, and lets our women contribute something beautiful to the world.”

Founded by entrepreneur and person in recovery Chris Bilyk, the Florida- and New York-based State of Gratitude is known for its high-quality apparel and accessories that inspire gratitude. The company’s mission aligns seamlessly with Her 2nd Chance’s work to create employment pathways for women rebuilding their lives after addiction.

“State of Gratitude is strongly committed to finding new ways to support community and grow our impact,” said Chris Bilyk, Founder of State of Gratitude. “Partnerships like the one with Her 2nd Chance are essential to both business growth and human healing. We believe in building a culture of support, and that starts with opportunity.”
