The Palm Beach County nonprofit social enterprise surpasses $1 million in wages paid to women in recovery.

BOCA RATON, FL – March 27, 2025—Her 2nd Chance, Inc., a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to empowering women in recovery through transitional employment in a safe and supportive environment, is proud to announce that since opening in 2018, it has paid $1,014,973 in wages to the women it serves.

This milestone represents not only a financial investment but also a transformative impact on the women, their families, and the community. According to REDF—a venture philanthropy organization that invests in employment-focused social enterprises—every dollar invested in Her 2nd Chance programming generates $2.23 in social return through increased workforce participation, reduced healthcare costs, lower crime rates, and greater productivity.

Founded on the belief that second chances lead to lasting change, Her 2nd Chance provides training and work opportunities for women overcoming substance use at its social enterprise - e-commerce shops that sell handcrafted, personalized gifts and fulfillment services for companies. Participants gain skills, stability, confidence, and a springboard to future employment, all vital to reclaiming their lives and independence.

"This achievement is more than just a number—it’s a testament to the resilience of the women we serve and the power of employment and economic opportunity in the recovery journey," said Erin Sabin, Executive Director. "By providing employment and support, we are helping break cycles of addiction, relapse, and unemployment, one paycheck at a time."

Since its inception, Her 2nd Chance has provided more than 100 women with work experience and the skills to transition to community employment while fostering a workplace culture rooted in dignity, purpose, and hope. In addition to wages, the organization offers wellness workshops and career mentorship, ensuring each woman has the tools to build a better future.

Program participant Audra Feinstein explains, "Earning again feels great, but this job gave me more than money—it gave me purpose. Every dollar I earn reminds me that I'm rebuilding my life, one honest step at a time."

As the organization looks ahead, it remains committed to expanding its impact and creating more job opportunities. Combining purpose-driven employment with a commitment to recovery, Her 2nd Chance helps women take bold steps toward stability and long-term success.
