Her 2nd Chance Named Nonprofit Recipient for Miami Marlins Recovery Awareness Day
BOCA RATON, FL August 21, 2025. — Her 2nd Chance, a Boca Raton-based nonprofit social enterprise that empowers women in recovery through paid employment and support programs, has been named the official nonprofit recipient for the Miami Marlins Recovery Awareness Day on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at loanDepot Park, as the Marlins take on the Mets. Game time is scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
A portion of ticket sales will benefit Her 2nd Chance, helping expand programs that support women overcoming substance use disorder by providing them with meaningful employment and a path forward.
“This is a powerful recognition of the work we do to restore dignity, purpose, and opportunity to women in recovery, working hard to rebuild their lives,” said Sandra Wright, Executive Director of Her 2nd Chance. “We are honored to stand alongside the Miami Marlins and recovery advocates from across South Florida to celebrate resilience and enjoy a great day out at the ballpark.”

The event brings together the recovery community from across South Florida to help raise awareness about substance abuse, sobriety, and healing. A special pre-game panel, featuring speakers who will share their experiences with recovery and answer questions from the crowd, will take place from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering candid insights and inspiration. Tickets also include a premium Marlins “We Do Recover” jersey.
Her 2nd Chance invites our community, supporters, and baseball fans alike to join us for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and America’s favorite pastime.
